Day 10 | O Come All Ye Faithful

Scripture to Ponder: John 1:1-18

Written by various authors throughout the 15th and 16th centuries, O Come All Ye Faithful beckons believers to come and worship the Christ. Come all you faithful, joyful and triumphant, for Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to triumph over sin and the curse.

Most Christmas carols and sermons focus on the nativity scenes in Matthew and Luke; however, O Come All Ye Faithful acknowledges Christ’s Incarnation from John’s Gospel. Jesus is the uncreated Word of the Father, God the Son, who helped hang the lights in the sky and breathe life into mankind. The baby in the manger is the same God, who said, “Let there be light.” The star that shone over Bethlehem symbolized the light that shone from him into the darkness, and the darkness, try as is it might, could not overcome it.

O Come All Ye Faithful | Multiple Authors + Rend Collective [Ending]
15-16th Centuries

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem

Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Sing, choirs of angels
Sing in exaltation
Sing all ye citizens of Heaven above
Glory to God, in the highest
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Oh, yes, Lord, we greet Thee
Born this happy morning
Jesus to Thee be all Glory
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

O come, O come adore Him
Gather round the throne before him
O come, O come adore Him
Christ the Lord

O come, O come adore Him
Gather round the throne before him
O come, O come adore Him
Christ the Lord

Christ the Lord

Christ the Lord

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
