Scripture to Ponder: Revelation 21

This song, written by Dustin Kensrue, is set to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne,” better known as the New Year’s Song. The original lyrics remind us of, “days gone by,” or friendships past. “All Glory Be To Christ,” was penned to give even deeper meaning and purpose to one of the most popular melodies in the world. The author says of his lyrics, “The idea is that—especially at the beginning of the new year—we would dedicate all our efforts to bringing glory to Jesus Christ, to acknowledge that anything else would be of no value, and to celebrate our redemption in him.”

This song reminds us of that for which we are waiting- the second coming (or advent) of Christ. For Christians, the celebration of Christmas is bittersweet because we are still waiting for Christ’s return. It’s an already but not yet season, in which we are called to give all glory to Christ.
